Kepak Career Timeline
I started in the International Trading Division of the Kepak group in 2017 as a Junior International Food Trader (Graduate) and spent the first 6 months shadowing other traders and assisting them with their daily tasks in order to learn more about the business.
The next year was spent trading Irish pork to Canada and working closely with Kepaks pork factory (McCarrens) during the process of the factory gained approval to export pork to China. I had spent a lot of time in the factory during this time working on product specifications along with projects to increase the quality/ brand of the product. It has allowed me to gain a great understanding of the factory process and the importance of quality/ consistency when it comes to food products destined for export to discerning international markets.
Key Projects, Achievements & Highlights So Far
I’m currently involved in International Sales to the Philippines and Africa. This involves traveling to these markets, participating in trade fairs, customer visits, factories etc. It has allowed me to gain a great understanding of the products and markets in which we deal, and also allows me to travel to many countries. Spending time in the factory has been invaluable, it’s a great way to see the full scope of the business.
