Making a Difference: Cleaning Up a Local Estuary
Suez, one of our waste contractors, asked local businesses to get involved in their estuary clean up and we were delighted to take part!
Last Friday, myself, Ryan Clarkin Christopher Cocksedge and Marite Cernavska joined the team (13 people in total), at the estuary in Freckleton on the River Ribble.
In total we collected 104kg of plastic which will now be cleaned and recycled – the rangers were extremely impressed with the amount to collect. This included a lot of plastic bottles, cigarette butts, glass bottles, old sofa cushions, plastic plant pots, plastic buckets, and even a CAR BUMPER!
