Kepak Group is delighted to announce the appointment of Walter Martin as Chief Financial Officer (CFO), effective immediately.
Walter steps into the role following the retirement of Robbie Grogan, who has dedicated 34 years to Kepak. To ensure a seamless transition, Robbie will continue to support the business until the end of 2025.
Since joining Kepak in 2018, Walter has been a key figure in the company’s financial leadership. He most recently served as Chief Accounting Officer & Company Secretary, where he played a pivotal role in enhancing financial operations and governance. Prior to that, he held senior positions including Head of Finance and CFO for the UK Meat Division. Before his tenure at Kepak, Walter held senior finance roles with Ardagh Group.
Commenting on the appointment, Simon Walker, CEO of Kepak Group, said: “We are thrilled to welcome Walter as our new CFO. His deep financial expertise, strategic vision, and leadership have been instrumental in our success. Under his guidance, we are confident that Kepak will continue to grow and strengthen its position in the market. I also want to extend our sincere gratitude to Robbie Grogan for his remarkable contribution to Kepak over the past three decades. His dedication and leadership have helped shape the company into what it is today.”
Walter Martin expressed his enthusiasm for the new role, stating, “It is an honor to take on the position of CFO at Kepak. Robbie has built an outstanding finance function, and I am committed to maintaining that legacy while focusing on strategic growth, disciplined capital allocation, and delivering long-term value for our stakeholders.”
Walter is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ireland, having trained with PwC. He also holds a Bachelor of Business (with Economics) from Trinity College Dublin and a Diploma in Corporate Governance from the Corporate Governance Institute.
Kepak looks forward to continued success under Walter’s financial leadership as the company remains committed to innovation, excellence, and sustainable growth.
